Claire Stubbs
I was a youth worker prior to my training as a psychologist and feel really enthusiastic about working with and supporting young people aged 11+. I also have experience working with children from 5-11.
When I work with young people, I am passionate about the system that the young person or child is part of and looking at challenges or opportunities that exist within their system that could support change, whether at school, in the family or wider community. Therefore, I will not be working with the young person in isolation. This is crucial in ensuring that the young person does not see themselves as “the problem.” We all exist within a context, and to only focus on the individual can be both oppressive and limiting in terms of supporting long term, sustainable change.
I have also had over ten years’ experience offering couples’ therapy. As a couple, I would meet with you individually first to understand both of your histories and your individual reasons for coming to therapy. In the work my role is to provide an objective facilitator that is supportive of both realities. To understand how much capacity there is within the relationship to honour both experiences, attend to any past pain that is diluting that capacity and understand the healing needed in order to move forward, whatever that route may be.
I work in an integrative relational way which means that I focus on all aspects of you and draw upon the best approach that I feel supports your needs. I am also trained as a Lifespan Integration Therapist and can therefore work with early developmental trauma, complex trauma and post traumatic difficulties using this approach. More information about LI can be found: https://www.lifespanintegration.co.uk
I also specialise in eating difficulties, and work to understand the psychological challenges that you may be experiencing that are making your relationship with food a difficult one. I have had extensive experience working with symptoms of Bulimia, Binge eating, compulsive eating, anorexia and individuals who are struggling to lose weight.
In addition, I have had over ten year’s experience of working with the following presentations:
- Abortion
- Affairs and betrayals
- Anxiety
- Bipolar disorder
- Domestic violence
- Low self-confidence
- Panic disorder
- Phobias
- Relationship problems
- Trauma
- Abuse
- Anger management
- Bereavement
- Child related issues
- Low self-esteem
- Personality disorders
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Sexuality
- Work-related stress
- Bullying
- Depression
- Generalised anxiety disorder
- Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Postnatal depression
- Pregnancy and birth
- Separation and divorce
- Stress
I have had over ten years’ experience of running groups and delivering training too. Details of the training I can deliver can be found on my services page. Details of upcoming groups can also be found here.
I am registered by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Health Care Professions Council. Details and confirmation of my registration can be found here at: https://www.hcpc-uk.org.
As a Counselling Psychologist I feel passionate about seeing you as a whole person. The diagnostic labels that exist within our mental health system, help me understand part of what might be happening for you, yet of most importance is understanding and being with you, hearing the uniqueness of your story, and not allowing my therapeutic focus to be limited by such reductionist terms.
Martin Stubbs
I am a person centred counsellor working in Eastbourne.
I endeavour to provide a safe, non judgemental and confidential space within which one can explore painful and difficult issues. Whatever you are facing I can assure you that you will find me to be a sensitive and solid presence.
As a curious and interested companion I will work with you whilst simultaneously being sensitive to the pace at which we proceed. Essentially we proceed at your pace.
I have worked with people experiencing a range of issues including those related to anxiety, depression, stress, relationships, experiences of abuse, low self esteem, sexuality, bereavement and loss and feelings of suicide.
I am a specialist eating disorders practitioner with experience of working with people suffering with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and obesity.
My philosophy, consistent with the person centred approach, is one which values each person as a unique individual with unique experiences, who, with the support provided within a counselling context has the capacity to find her or his own way forward. I passionately believe in this way of working and the respect it affords to those with whom I work.
I recognise that it is not possible for everyone to attend for session at my therapy room. This may be the case for people with a disability. It is important to me that everyone has equal access to my therapy, and therefore I offer sessions to people in their homes if they so wish. I appreciate that one’s home is a very personal space and therefore I am happy to speak on the phone prior to an initial visit. I also offer sessions over the zoom platform.
I appreciate that sitting opposite a therapist in a room may not work for everyone and therefore I offer walk and talk sessions if preferred.

Lynn Hanford-Day
I’m a dual qualified transpersonal coach and integrative psychotherapist working with midlife and older women who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship and family issues, stress and burnout. You may be experiencing low-mood, low self-esteem and loss of confidence. You may feel life has no meaning, caught in repeating patterns. If you have reached the point of despair, that no matter what you do nothing seems to work and you’ve given up, know that you are not alone.
I specialise in working with a range of needs including: the ‘mother wound’, life crisis, burnout, grief, loss and bereavement, midlife transition, ageing and becoming an elder, death and dying, food addiction and our relationship with food. I am equally open to working with people who value the intimacy of the therapeutic space as a place for reflection.
I view individuals as unique, seeing you as a person with your own history. My approach is deeply relational, seeking to understand what happened to you and what makes you who you are, listening for what is emergent, what is said and unsaid. I work holistically with the past, present and future, paying attention to body, mind, feelings and the soul. I bring kindness and compassionate attention to the needs and wants of your different parts, to bring insight, inner peace and harmony.
Silke Tison
My name is Silke.
I am a fully qualified, dedicated therapist, experienced and passionate about working creatively with children and young people from the age of four. Using elements of art and play therapy I draw on my extensive experience as a primary school counsellor. I aim to provide a safe, therapeutic environment in which your child can be themselves and speak freely.
My approach is child-led and very gentle and your child sets the pace, enabling trust and a sense of control often lost when dealing with anxiety, parental separation, low-moods, anger or low self-esteem; identifying and working through difficult feelings, often for the first time, results in increased emotional balance and confidence.
I offer free telephone consultations as well as no-obligation introductory sessions so you and your child can get to know me before deciding whether to continue.
In addition to working with children and teenagers, I also see adults in private practice and have gained my experience working as a counsellor for The Old Bank well-being Trust as well as Macmillan Counselling Services and having been a volunteer for Samaritans for a number of years.
My person-centred approach is non-directive and means that I draw on the theories of Carl Rogers in which emphasis is given to each individual being the expert on their own life and to have the power to make positive changes. I am happy to work with a variety of issues including stress and anxiety, depression, bereavement, anger, suicidal thoughts, illness, low-self esteem, separation, disability and parenting. By helping you to discover your own (often hidden) resources you can feel more emotionally balanced, more able to cope and in control.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and adhere to their Code of Practice and Professional Conduct. As such I am committed to on-going professional development, am fully insured and hold a current DBS certificate for my work with children. Sessions are confidential, usually held on a weekly basis, last for 50 minutes and are reviewed regularly to ensure their continued effectiveness.

About me
As a psychotherapist, I am dedicated to helping people navigate life’s twists and turns and unlock their true potential. My approach is deeply person-centred, rooted in creating a supportive space where you can truly explore your experiences, heal, and grow
I see each person as a unique and multifaceted individual, far beyond just a series of labels or diagnoses. While these labels can offer some perspective, they may only provide a glimpse into the complexity of who you are.
My focus is on helping you move past these labels to achieve a deeper understanding of yourself and foster meaningful personal growth. I blend thoughtful analysis with an empathetic approach to our emotions, both of which I feel are are essential for living authentically and navigating life’s challenges.
In our time together, I aim to honour the light and potential within you while also creating a safe space to face the darker, more challenging aspects of life. I deeply believe that our well-being is intertwined with the relationships we build, so I place great value on exploring and expanding our awareness within these connections. Your journey is unique, and I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
In life, I love paddleboarding and strolling through the Welsh mountains. I am still perfecting the art of standing up on the paddleboard, so for now, I’m embracing the zen of kneeling paddleboarding
Experience past and present
Before becoming a counselling, I spent over 20 years as a substance misuse practitioner. During this time, I developed and managed a specialised Chemsex service in London and played a pivotal role in establishing a similar service in Southwest England. Additionally, I have volunteered as a counsellor extensively with LGBTQ+ organisations. I had also had the opportunity to co-author the world’s first Chemsex Rehabilitation and Recovery Toolkit for the Ministry of Justice.
I have worked in both individual and group settings, providing direct client support and delivering targeted training sessions.
Throughout my career, I have collaborated closely with addiction services, probation services, LGBTQ+ charities and youth services. I have also developed and delivered training programs for healthcare professionals, aimed at enhancing their ability to address these complex issues effectively.
As a member of the inaugural East Sussex Resilient Therapy Community of Practice (CoP), I designed and developed the Resilience Tower, an innovative tool that uses a playful game format to facilitate discussions about feelings and emotions. The Resilience Tower is now used in various services across the UK. This approach, supported by the Resilience Framework, is integral to my practice, enhancing clients’ skills for making positive changes.
In my private practice clients may attended for various reasons, such as:
- Addiction
- Gambling
- Chemsex use
- Sexuality and identity issues
- Low self-confidence
- Relationship issues
- Anger management

Sonia Silve
Hi, my name is Sonia and I am an Integrative Therapist working with adults, couples, children and young people. I specialise in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy and have over 30 years of experience working in Health and Social Care, including over twenty years in Child Protection and Substance Use.
I have worked with many children and adults with multiple complex issues and trauma. I have specialised in working with trauma over the years and feel this is an area that I am passionate about. Working in those fields has helped me to be the therapist I am today. I know that by giving people time and space to be curious has positive results. I currently work as a Psychosexual Therapist in the NHS too, in a Female Sexual Function clinic in the Clinical Health Psychology Department. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and doing pottery.
I like to use an integrative approach to therapy, using different methods and styles to suit the needs of my clients. I include my clients in the plan for therapy and we review regularly and change things if required. We can be creative in sessions, including doing things like somatic work, grounding techniques, drawing, timelines etc, whatever works for you to help you move forward. I aim to make you feel safe and secure so that you can explore what is going on for you in the here and now, but I also look at past experiences and strategies/patterns of behaviour. I enjoy working with individuals and couples. My aim during therapy is to help you feel that it is possible to make changes and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
I am available for in person and online therapy.
Qualifications:
- Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy
- Masters Module in Trauma Informed Practice
- Adult Attachment Interview
Adult Specialisms include:
- Sexual pain
- Intimacy issues
- Sexual trauma
- Addiction, including sex/porn/substances
- Sexual issues in relation to other diagnoses
- Menopause
- Arousal/desire difficulties
- Erectile Dysfunction
- Premature Ejaculation
- Kink/BDSM
- Childhood attachment/trauma
I also work with Young People between the ages of 11 to 18 years:
Growing up can be complicated. Young people are often trying to make sense of who they are while navigating friendships, family relationships, school, identity, emotions and an increasing pressure to know where they fit in the world.
I offer a warm, curious and non-judgemental space where young people aged 11–18 can come as they are. Therapy doesn’t always have to mean sitting opposite someone and finding the right words. Depending on the young person, our work might involve creativity, exploring ideas visually, using different ways of expressing what is happening internally, or sometimes walking and talking together.
Rather than focusing only on what feels difficult, I am interested in the whole young person and the system around them — their relationships, experiences, environment and the different things that may be influencing how they feel and respond. Together, we can become curious about difficult feelings or behaviours, understand what might sit underneath them, and discover the strengths and resources they already have.
A really important part of my work is helping young people find and trust their own voice. Therapy can offer somewhere to explore identity, sexuality and relationships; anxiety, low mood or overwhelming emotions; difficult experiences; risk-taking or behaviours that feel hard to understand; or simply the experience of not quite knowing who you are yet.
There is no expectation to arrive knowing what you want to talk about. We can work that out together. My aim is to offer a space where a young person can feel safe enough to explore, be curious, make sense of themselves and, importantly, have room to be themselves.

Laura Warren
Laura Warren – Youth Coach
I am a Youth Mental Health Coach who is passionate about supporting young people to build confidence, resilience and self-belief. My approach is warm, down-to-earth and centred around creating a safe space where young people feel heard, understood and supported to make sense of their experiences.
I work with young people facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, low self-esteem, school pressures and avoidance, relationship difficulties, family changes and uncertainty about their future. Together, we explore practical ways to manage emotions, strengthen coping skills and develop a more positive sense of self.
I use positive psychology coaching to help young people identify their strengths, focus on what is working well in their lives, and set achievable goals for growth. This approach helps them build emotional resilience, optimism, and confidence in their ability to navigate challenges.
I believe that every young person has the capacity for growth and change when given the right support and understanding. My sessions are relaxed and collaborative, adapting to the needs of each individual — sometimes reflective and conversational, sometimes creative or activity-based — always focused on what feels most helpful for them.

Agnes Czaniecka
My name is Agnes, and I’m a qualified person-centred counsellor (MBACP) offering both online and face-to-face sessions in a safe, supportive, and confidential space.
At the heart of my work is the belief that every person has the capacity to heal and grow when met with empathy, care, and genuine understanding. I offer a warm, respectful space where you can explore whatever’s on your mind—at your own pace, without judgement.
Being a therapist is more than a profession to me—it’s who I am. Supporting people on their journey feels natural and deeply meaningful. My purpose as a therapist is to help you identify what it is you truly need or want—and to support you in learning how to ask for it, in a way that honours who you are. Whether you’re navigating emotional challenges, life transitions, or complex mental health difficulties, I will walk alongside you with care, curiosity, and a deep respect for your unique process.
I have over 10 years’ experience working with adults, children, and young people, supporting people facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, addiction, narcissistic relationships, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and complex mental health difficulties. I also offer creative approaches and systemic constellations, where appropriate.
My professional background includes work for CGL, Affordable Counselling Network, East Sussex County Council, hospitals, schools, and supported accommodation. I studied at the Metropolitan University and University of Brighton, and I am currently expanding my practice through further study in Creative and Expressive Approaches in Person-Centred Counselling at the University of East Anglia.
Before retraining as a counsellor, I gained a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Human Resources in 2005 and spent nearly a decade working in the business environment. This background gave me valuable insight into the pressures, challenges, and interpersonal dynamics that people often face in professional life, and it continues to inform my therapeutic work today.
If you’re looking for a counsellor who will meet you with kindness, integrity, and genuine care—and support you to reconnect with your own strength and needs—I’d be honoured to work with you. I also welcome students and offer a reduced fee, as I understand how challenging it can be to balance personal well-being with the demands of studying. Sessions last 50 minutes and are held in English or Polish. I am fully insured and work in line with the BACP’s ethical framework. Confidentiality is always respected unless there is a concern about serious harm to you or others.

Linda Bonavoglia
Hello, and a warm welcome to my profile.
I’m Linda, a qualified Integrative Yoga Psychotherapist and Clinical Mind/Body Therapist. I offer a holistic, creative and down-to-earth approach to therapy, grounded in neuroscience, mindfulness and somatic body-based therapy, to help you to make sense of your challenges, whilst also learning practical tools to foster meaningful change. Breath, posture, sensations, and symptoms often carry deeper meanings that enhance insight and foster a growing capacity to hold ourselves with more complexity. This embodied exploration offers groundedness and safety to the therapeutic process.
I work across a wide spectrum of mental distress, including complex trauma, addictions, compulsivity, panic, anxiety, depression, emotional challenges, relational and identity crises, and I am currently undergoing further training in the treatment of compulsive sexual behaviours and sex / pornography addiction.
I am trained in Integrative Yoga Psychotherapy (IYP), accredited at Level 7 by the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP). IYP is a pioneering psychotherapy model that integrates talking therapy with mindfulness, breathwork, embodied somatic practices, Buddhist wisdom, and active imagery to create a sensitive and interconnected map of both your internal and external worlds. I am also Certified in Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT).
My practice is IYP at its core, and informed by Humanistic Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family System (IFS), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Gestalt, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Somatic Trauma Psychotherapy, Existential Psychotherapy, Spiritual Counselling and Yoga Therapy.
As an integrative therapist, I am able to include:
• Talking therapy to focus on developing the capacity of your mind to manage challenging internal chats, experiences and beliefs. While this approach can be very useful, most times you can’t think your way out of the problem, especially if it is rooted in trauma;
• Somatic body-based therapy to focus on processing how your body holds these difficult internal chats, and offer regulation tools such as breathing or grounding techniques. Enriched by a solid foundation of medical principles, behavioural science and evidence-based practices, this approach can be extremely powerful in bringing compassionate curiosity around the body and shifting deep emotions or self-beliefs, by way of re-balancing a nervous system that may have become dysregulated;
• Contextual and systemic approaches to therapy, as relevant to you as an individual in the context of your wider systems, to see how your relationships, the institutions you are part of, and your wider environment may affect your experience.
Whether you prefer talking therapy, or are curious about my holistic mind/body approach, we will always move at a suitable pace for you to cultivate safety, agency and self-growth. I will listen and work with you along the way: we may engage in talking therapy only, other times we may include a bit of movement – posture shift, subtle somatic changes, shaking, tapping, bringing awareness to the body and connecting how words we speak are felt in the body, making sense and befriending emotional responses. Or perhaps all you want may be a quiet space to breathe and simply be.
If you are curious to find out more, get in touch. You will be welcome here just as you are.

Kate Noakes
Kate Noakes – CPCAB Person-centred Psychotherapist
Life can be challenging in ways that are difficult to carry alone.
You may be navigating the demands of caring for others, living with the impact of betrayal or rejection, grieving a loss, recovering from abuse or struggling beneath expectations that no longer fit. Perhaps you’ve spent so long meeting the needs of those around you, that you’ve lost touch with your own voice, needs or sense of self.
Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to face it alone.
Therapy offers something that information, advice and self-help resources cannot fully provide: a safe, supportive relationship where you can be heard without judgement, understood with compassion and given the space to explore your experience at your own pace.
As human beings, we are shaped in relationship and often heal in relationship too. Meaningful change rarely grows from self-criticism. Instead, it emerges through understanding, acceptance and the experience of being truly seen.
I am a qualified CPCAB psychotherapist and experienced professional business/life coach, and my work is grounded in Person-Centred Experiential Therapy. At the heart of this approach is a belief that you are the expert on your own life. Rather than analysing, directing or trying to “fix” you, I offer a therapeutic space where your own understanding, resilience, and capacity for growth can emerge.
Alongside my core therapeutic practice, I have particular experience supporting people who:
- Are living with the realities of a neurodivergent mind
- Carry long-term caring responsibilities for loved ones
- Have experienced abuse and are seeking to reconnect with their voice and sense of self
- Struggle with self-worth, self-criticism or finding compassion for themselves
- Want to better understand and support men’s mental and emotional wellbeing — whether for themselves or someone they care about
My aim is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to explore what feels difficult and empowered enough to discover new perspectives, possibilities and ways of being.
The Discovery Room is my therapy and wellbeing practice and is a place for curiosity, understanding and growth. A place where you can gently explore who you are beneath the weight of expectation, trauma, loss or life’s demands — and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been forgotten along the way.
If you’re considering reaching out, perhaps this is the beginning of an important discovery: that you don’t have to carry everything on your own.
“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be… I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.”
